Build-A-Bear Workshop at Children's Hospital

UC Davis Children's Hospital patients will be choosing a new furry friend, thanks to Build-A-Bear Workshop and one former leukemia patient Emily Love.

When: Monday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m.

Where: UC Davis Children's Hospital, 2315 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento. Please meet Tricia Tomiyoshi in the hospital lobby at 10 a.m.

How: Former leukemia patient Emily Love and her parents, Jason and Christina Love, have been bringing the Build-a-Bear experience to UC Davis Children's Hospital for the past four years. They have raised money through the crowdfunding website, Tilt.com, to pay for stuffed animals for all children at UC Davis Children's Hospital and their siblings. Build-a-Bear Workshop in Roseville will bring the stuffed animals, hearts and equipment to the hospital, with Build-a-Bear staff leading the heart ceremony for patients. UC Davis medical students will sew up the stuffed animals.
