PARK(ING) DAY TO TRANSFORM PARKING SPOTS ON CAPITOL MALL THIS SATURDAY

On Saturday, September 16, 2017 the annual international event known as PARK(ing) Day will return to downtown Sacramento from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. in the Capitol Circle between 9th and 10th streets.

Artists, designers, community organizations, schools and citizens will transform fourteen parking spots into a series of temporary mini parks (parklets) in an effort to promote green and pedestrian-friendly urban spaces and celebrate our creative community.

Sacramento's PARK(ing) Day is designed to expose the general public to what parklets are. Organizers hope to create a fun environment for nearby employees, residents and visitors to experience the creative talents of participants while sparking conversations to encourage more permanent parklets.

Sacramento United PARK(ing) Day is FREE to attend with activities, art, play features, games, and live music complementing the parklets throughout the day. Food trucks and vendors will offer food and drink for purchase.
