Johnny Cash Trail in Folsom Groundbreaking

Cindy Cash will be on hand as Folsom breaks ground for the Johnny Cash Trail, including a prison-themed bicycle/pedestrian bridge over busy Folsom Lake Crossing Road.

The 2.5 mile trail will traverse Folsom State Prison property, linking El Dorado County to Folsom's Historic District and the American River Parkway. Johnny Cash tribute artist Drew Young of the Walking Phoenixes will provide entertainment.

Folsom Lake Crossing near E. Natoma Street

Directions/ Parking:
Highway 50 to Folsom Boulevard; turn right on Natoma Street and travel 2 miles northeast (past City Hall); turn left on Folsom Prison Industries Road (the second entry into Folsom Prison property, past the first prison entry road with the traffic signal); make the first right turn into driveway and continue to the parking lot. Walk up dirt pathway to ceremony site (flat shoes highly recommended).
