Most of us know someone who has been affected by the devastating effects of diabetes.  It is one of the leading causes of death in the United States.  Diabetes is a condition that affects the way the body metabolizes sugar. Type II diabetes, also called insulin resistance, is the inability of the body to use insulin properly in order to metabolize glucose, starches and sugars which the body uses for energy.

Nearly 25 Million people have Diabetes and an amazing 57 million more are pre-diabetic.  The health complications of diabetes include; increased risk for heart disease and stroke, high blood pressure, kidney disease, neuropathy, amputation to name just a few.

The most troubling fact is that Type II Diabetes is preventable. The causes of this disease are directly related to two life choices, diet and physical activity.  Lack of physical activity and poor diet are the primary culprits. As body fat rises, the ability of the body to utilize insulin diminishes. The good news is that recent research indicates reversing Type II Diabetes is possible. A recent study done at UCLA indicates that improved diet and moderate exercise can reverse diabetes in 50% of patients in just three weeks.

So, why doesn't organized medicine want you to know this? Because modern health-care is "sickness"- care.  Modern medicine aims to treat and eliminate our symptoms. The way that they do this is by prescribing medications. The pharmaceutical companies make billions of dollars every year by keeping us on their medications. If medicine "cured" us, we wouldn't need to continue to take them and they would lose customers, and a lot of money.

It is time to be proactive about our health. We need to find the natural solutions to our most pressing health concerns, of which obesity and diabetes are probably number one. We can no longer depend upon mainstream medicine to keep us healthy.  We need to do it for ourselves, our families, and our friends.

So, how do you get started?  If you do your homework, the information is out there, if you know where to look.  Or, you could contact me or follow the link below that will take you to a program called, "Project: You!
