Roseville Home Start partners with Groupon Grassroots

Roseville, CA. -Roseville Home Start and Groupon Grassroots, the philanthropic arm of Groupon, announce the launch of a local campaign to provide toiletries and household products for homeless families participating in the Home Start program.

The Welcome Home Baskets campaign will be available on the Sacramento Groupon Grassroots page beginning on Monday, October 1st and running through Sunday, October 7th. Utilizing Groupon Grassroots' collective action model, Groupon subscribers can pledge support for the Welcome Home Baskets initiative in increments of $10, with each $ 50 providing a Welcome Home Basket for one family.

Becoming homeless is one of the most traumatic and devastating experiences a family can endure.  Home Start provides a safe, stable, drug-free, violence-free environment for children to live with their families.  Families reside at Home Start for one year, then continue under Home Start's case management for an additional year upon successfully moving into their own permanent housing. Welcome Home Baskets will greet each new family in their own unit, providing toiletries, paper products, and cleaning supplies and everything they need for their first few weeks at Home Start.

100% percent of the Groupon Grassroots campaign proceeds will be used to provide Welcome Home Baskets for Homeless Families.

Major components of the program include case management, budgeting, life skills training, counseling, permanent housing placement and follow-up.
