Roseville Crime Report (Weekly Update)
The City of Roseville Police Department's weekly crime report update for January 18, 2013.
Police Beat 1: Northeast Roseville
East Roseville Parkway, theft: Between January 8 and 11, someone stole an MQ Power generator mounted on a trailer from a storage yard on Stonehouse Court.
East Roseville Parkway, vehicle burglary: Between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. January 9, someone got into a locked vehicle on Medical Plaza Drive by unknown means and stole a duffle bag with workout clothes, a charge, earphones and other small items.
East Roseville Parkway, theft from a vehicle: Between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. January 11, someone got into a locked vehicle on Medical Plaza Drive, possibly via a window that had been left cracked open, and stole a wallet, cash, ID, credit cards, golf clubs, stereo equipment and other valuables.
East Roseville Parkway, vehicle burglary: Between 10:30 a.m. January 12 and 10:30 a.m. January 13, someone got into a vehicle in an apartment complex at 1451 Rocky Ridge Drive by unknown means, and took an iPod, a large collection of music CDs, clothing, ID, gift cards and other valuable items.
Granite Bay/East Roseville, vehicle burglaries, arrests made: At 3 a.m. January 14, a Roseville officer on routine patrol stopped two men who were jaywalking across Douglas Boulevard just west of Sierra College Boulevard. They were acting suspiciously, and one had an outstanding warrant. Officers searched them and found burglar's tools, gift cards, a woman's pair of prescription sunglasses, jewelry and other items in other people's names. Most of the stolen items were traced to two fresh vehicle burglaries on Olive Ranch Road and Northglen Drive in Granite Bay. A 29-year-old Redding man and a 30-year-old Sacramento man were arrested on suspicion of burglary and related charges. The Redding man was also arrested on an outstanding Shasta County warrant for violating the terms of his post release community supervision (AB109/PRCS) requirements.
Galleria area, theft: Between 12:30 and 2 p.m. January 14, while a woman was shopping at a grocery store in the 1000 block of Galleria Blvd., someone stole her wallet and all its contents out of her purse.
Police Beat 2: East Roseville
Johnson Ranch, bike theft: Between 4:45 and 5 a.m. January 4, someone stole a bicycle that had been chained to a chair on a porch in the 2900 block of Tilden Drive. The victim heard a noise like someone placing something in the back of a truck, and found that both the bike and chair had been taken. The bike was a black and silver Specialized mountain bike.
Johnson Ranch, vandalism: Overnight January 11/12, someone slashed the tires of a vehicle parked in an apartment complex at 8800 Sierra College Blvd.
Maidu, copper theft: Between January 4 and 7, someone stripped copper wire from a home under construction in the 1400 block of West Colonial Parkway.
Cirby Ranch, vehicle theft: Overnight January 14/15, someone stole a black 2006 Jeep Wrangler from the 1400 block of Vista Creek. The Jeep was found unoccupied and undamaged later on the 15th in Sacramento County.
Cirby Ranch, armed robbery: At 9:35 p.m. January 15, an unknown male entered a fast food restaurant in the 1000 block of Sunrise Avenue, displayed a handgun and demanded money from an employee. The employee gave him money from the cash drawer and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was described as an Hispanic male in his late 20s, 5'8" tall and 160 pounds, wearing a green beanie cap with a bill, a dark blue hoodie with white writing on the front, and blue jeans. No one reported being injured.
Sierra Gardens, school vandalized: Between December 21 and January 3, someone cut wires on water heaters, removed some roof tiles and stole fuses from air conditioning units at Warren T. Eich Intermediate School.
Sierra Gardens, vehicle burglary: Overnight January 8/9, someone got into a van parked in the 400 block of Loretto Drive by unknown means, and stole power tools and a laptop computer.
Sierra Gardens, vehicle theft: Overnight January 8/9, someone stole a white 1997 Dodge Dakota pickup from the 1400 block of Michael Way. The pickup's still missing at this time.
Sierra Gardens, theft: Between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. January 9, someone went into a backyard in the 1600 block of Truscott Court and took two blue tarps.
Sierra Gardens, bank robbery: At 2:38 p.m. January 10, a male robbed Chase Bank at 1800 Douglas Blvd. and left with two other people in a faded silver Toyota Camry sedan. Officers found the Camry abandoned on Cardinal Drive near Loretto Drive. It had been reported stolen from south Sacramento. Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s). Sierra Gardens, vehicle theft: Around 11:40 a.m. January 11, someone stole a dark green 1997 Honda Accord four-door sedan from a grocery store parking lot in the 1900 block of Douglas Boulevard. No suspect was seen. CHP recovered the vehicle, unoccupied and undamaged, on January 13 in north Sacramento.
Sierra Gardens, wallet stolen, credit cards used: Between 12:50 and 1:15 p.m. January 12, a woman was eating lunch in a restaurant in the 1800 block of Douglas Boulevard, with her purse slung over the back of her chair. Later she realized that her wallet was missing from her purse. Within the hour, two of her credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases at Arden Fair Mall.
Lead Hill, vehicle burglary: Between 7:45 a.m. and 1:17 p.m. January 14, someone broke into a locked vehicle in the overflow parking lot at Kaiser on Eureka Road, and took a woman's purse that had been left in the car behind the driver's seat. The purse contained cash, ID, credit cards and other valuable items.
Lead Hill, vehicle burglary: Between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. January 15, someone broke the window of a car parked at a fitness center in the 300 block of North Sunrise Avenue and took a briefcase and an iPad.
Police Beat 3 Central Roseville, south of the tracks
Cresthaven, theft: Between 2 and 8 a.m. January 5, someone rummaged through an unlocked car on Valley Oak Drive and took a duffle bag with a stethoscope and other items.
Cresthaven, arrest for burglar's tools: At 1:10 p.m. January 6, an alert resident reported a suspicious person in the area of Cresthaven and Dawnridge. The male, who was not known to the neighborhood, had been riding around the neighborhood for the past 30 minutes. Officers contacted him on Baldwin Avenue and found he was on Post Release Community Supervision out of Sacramento County. They searched him and found a cutting tool, numerous vehicle keys, and ID belonging to other people. The suspect, a 32-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of possessing burglar's tools and related charges.
Cresthaven, vehicles stolen: Overnight January 10/11, someone broke through a chain-link fence surrounding a company yard in the 200 block of Kenroy Lane, stole keys from a lock-box and then stole four
Ford F250 work pickups and other trailers or construction equipment vehicles. One of the trucks was found, damaged, in Sacramento County on January 13. The rest are still missing.
Cresthaven, vehicles burglarized: Overnight January 11/12, someone got into two locked vehicles in the 800 block of Portside Circle by unknown means, and took an iPod and a bag of clothing.
Theiles Manor, vehicle vandalized: Overnight January 8/9, someone broke the back window of a van parked in the 1600 block of Vernon Street.
Folsom Road, catalytic converter stolen: Overnight January 2/3, someone stole the catalytic converters from a Toyota Sequoia SUV in the 200 block of Sharon Way.
Folsom Road, purse stolen: Around 11 a.m. January 11, a purse was stolen from an unattended stroller in Royer Park. The victim had placed her purse in the bottom of the stroller while she walked around the park with her child.
Folsom Road, burglary: Between 10:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. January 12, someone went into an unlocked house on South Lincoln Street and took a television and prescription medication.
Enwood, theft: Between January 6 and 8, someone took large garbage bags full of recyclables from the back yard of a home in the 600 block of Atlantic Street.
Police Beat 4 Central Roseville, north of the tracks
Roseville Heights, packages stolen: Delivered packages of Mary Kay products were stolen from a front porch in the 100 block of Birch Street on three separate occasions between December 19 and January 9.
Roseville Heights, vandalism: Between 1:50 and 2 a.m. January 11, someone threw a brick through the windshield of a car parked behind the Roseville Hotel in the 100 block of Main Street. No suspect was seen.
Roseville Heights, probation search, stolen property found: On the afternoon of January 11, officers conducted a probation search of a boarding hotel room in the 300 block of Lincoln, and found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a wallet that was stolen during a vehicle burglary in unincorporated Placer County in September 2012. A 43-year-old Roseville man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs and stolen property. A 22-year-old Roseville woman was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.
Vineyard, theft: Overnight January 10/11, someone stole tools from the beds of two pickups in the 1200 block of Chablis Circle. Los Cerritos, theft: Between noon and 4 p.m. January 10, someone got into a locked SUV in the 400 block of Pleasant Street by unknown means and took a Magellan GPS unit.
Los Cerritos, theft: Overnight January 10/11, someone went into an unlocked car in the 200 block of Vallejo Ave. and took numerous music CDs and loose change.
Police Beat 5 North Central Roseville
Foothills-Junction, scooters stolen: At about 9:30 p.m. January 6, a couple of juveniles played "doorbell ditch" at a house in the 2200 block of American, and then rode away on two Razor scooters, one green and one blue, that had been left on the front porch. The victim didn't get a description of the juveniles.
Foothills Junction, vandalism: Between 10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. January 13, someone slashed the tires on two vehicles parked at an apartment complex on Marcia Way.
Industrial West, stolen vehicle: Overnight January 8/9, someone stole a white 2006 Ford F250 pickup, lifted, with oversized tires and a tool box in the back, from the 1300 block of Black Bear Street. The truck's still missing.
Stanford, vandalism: Between the evening of January 8 and 1 p.m. January 9, someone broke the rear window of a car at a hotel in the 10000 block of Fairway Drive. Nothing was taken.
Stanford, attempted vehicle theft: Between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. January 11, someone broke into a car in the 900 block of Pleasant Grove and tampered with the steering column.
Stanford, vehicle theft: Overnight January 11/12, someone got into a possibly unlocked SUV in the 7500 block of Greenburn, stole a set of keys to a van that was also parked in the driveway, and then stole the van, a green 2002 Honda Odyssey. Later the victim found the van, unoccupied, parked a half-mile away from her house.
Industrial East, commercial burglaries: During the early morning hours of January 14, someone smashed the front door of two hair salons in the 1200 block of Pleasant Grove Blvd. and took cash. Two other small businesses on Woodcreek Oaks Blvd. were burglarized the same night (see below in Beat 6).
Stanford Crossing, catalytic converter stolen: Between 3 and 4 p.m. January 13, someone stole the catalytic converter from a Toyota Sequoia SUV in the 6700 block of Stanford Ranch Road.
Police Beat 6 West Roseville
Woodcreek, theft: At 2:15 p.m. January 12, an an apartment complex at 1098 Woodcreek Oaks Blvd., a woman left her vehicle open and unattended for a minute while she took in groceries. Someone stole her wallet, containing cash, ID and numerous bank cards, off the center console.
Quail Glen, commercial burglaries: Overnight January 13/14, a dentist's office and a hair salon in the 4000 block of Woodcreek Oaks Blvd. were burglarized. The burglar smashed the front doors and took a small amount of cash from one business. These burglaries are probably related to two other burglaries of hair salons the same night in the 1200 block of Pleasant Grove Blvd. (see above under Beat 5, Industrial East).
Fiddyment Farms, theft: Overnight January 11/12, someone got into a possibly unlocked vehicle in the 4000 block of Porch Swing Drive, and took a gym bag, iPod, vehicle paperwork, and other small items.
