SPCA Seeks Nominations for 2013 Hero Awards

Roseville, CA - Placer SPCA is seeking nominations for the 2013 Hero Awards, to be presented at the 12th annual Funny Bones Comedy and Awards Night on Friday, April 26.

 Do you know a person, animal, organization, or business in Placer County that has gone above and beyond to demonstrate how strong the human-animal bond can be? Nominate them for a Placer SPCA Hero Award! Nomination forms and event ticket sales are available at www.placerspca.org/funnybones.

 Last year's Heroes included George, a reading therapy dog who gives children the courage to read aloud; Kevin, a dog who saved a family member in distress; Pet Food Express; which partners with Placer SPCA to find homes for cats;

and Dr. Jim Howard, a veterinarian who donates his time to provide veterinary care at the Placer SPCA.

 Funny Bones includes a silent and live auction, full dinner, the Hero Awards presentations, and a set by a national headliner, comedian Jack Gallagher.  Those interested in attending Funny Bones are encouraged to act quickly, as tickets typically sell out weeks before the event.  Individual tickets can be purchased for just $75 if purchased by April 1 or $100 if purchased after April 1.  Funny Bones will be held at Pano Hall at Thunder Valley Casino and Resort (1200 Athens Ave., Lincoln) on Friday, April 26 from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
