It’s Spring Break time again!  While college students trek off to party destinations far from home,  many families are feverishly gearing up to make the most of a week apart from work, school and the mundane chores of life.  Some will travel afar,  some will enjoy the simplicity and solitude of a week off while others will partake in what their local community has to offer.

Book a Hotel –Tight Budget with Kids? 

Booking an unplanned and last minute hotel can make for an adventure that planning just can’t match.  If going on a dream vacation just isn’t in the budget, a great alternative is a local hotel.

A night at a local hotel, swimming for the kids at the hotel pool and a family dinner at a local restaurant followed by the excitement and laughter your kids will experience in a hotel room. Priceless.

Placer County offers some wonderful opportunities to learn about local history in portion sizes the whole family will appreciate.  Head up to the Auburn Courthouse and check out the Placer County Museum.  The small, well designed layout offers a fun glimpse back to the Wild West and beyond.

Afterwards, take a stroll around Old Auburn and grab a bite at one of the local landmarks.

Hit the Library

Explore by Bike

Stroll Downtown Roseville

Downtown Roseville is undergoing lots of changes. Spend a couple hours walking downtown, explore the shops and check out one of the new eateries.  You might just see rocker Sammy Hagar strolling Vernon Street.
