Placer County Budget Workshop on August 15th
The Placer County Board of Supervisors will hold a budget workshop Thursday, August 15 as part of its drive to adopt a final 2013-14 budget next month.
Thursday's workshop will take place at 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the County Administrative Center, 175 Fulweiler Ave., in Auburn.
During the workshop, board members will receive an overview from staff on the county's fiscal outlook, review key policy issues and hear presentations from county departments. The board also will provide direction to the county budget team to help guide preparation of a final budget.
Placer County uses a two-phase budget development process so it can adopt a final budget with updated revenue and expenditure estimates in September.
In June, the board approved a proposed $690.5 million budget that has served as an interim spending plan since the 2013-14 fiscal year began July 1.
Next month, the board will hold a public hearing on a proposed final budget before voting to adopt it.
The 2013-14 proposed budget and other budget documents are posted online.
