The Roseville Police Department's weekly crime report digest for August 14, 2013.
Police Beat 1: Northeast Roseville
Olympus, attempted burglary: About 11:30 a.m. August 5, someone broke a window and tried to force open a door at the back of a house in the 3300 block of Chapelle Drive. No entry was made and nothing was taken. The would-be burglar may have been scared off by the burglary alarm. Witnesses saw two vehicles that weren't known to the neighborhood cruising around the area at the same time: a red pickup, similar to a Ford Ranger, and a white extended-cab pickup, similar to a Toyota Tacoma.
East Roseville Parkway, burglary: Between the evening of August 7 and the evening of August 9, someone tampered with the lock of an apartment garage roll-up door in the 1500 block of Secret Ravine Parkway, and stole golf clubs, ammunition, sporting goods and clothing.
East Roseville Parkway, theft: At about 4 p.m. August 10, a Citrus Heights man met with an unknown person in the 1800 block of Taylor Road to sell him a cell phone he'd advertised for sale on Craigslist. The suspect, an Hispanic male in his 20s with a medium build, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, asked to inspect the cell phone. The victim handed over the cell phone, and the suspect got into his silver late model Toyota 4-Runner and drove away without paying the seller.
Creekside/Antelope Creek, theft: Between 1 and 11 a.m. August 11,
someone stole a pitching machine and other softball gear from the
back of a pickup in the 1200 block of Antelope Creek Road.
Police Beat 2: East Roseville
South Cirby, vandalism: Between 3 p.m. August 9 and 7:30 a.m. August 10, someone broke the window of an SUV parked in the 1500 block of Champion Oaks. Nothing was taken.
Lead Hill, burglary: Between approximately 7 and 8 a.m. July 27, someone pried the back door of a restaurant in the 1500 block of Eureka Road and took the safe and cash.
Police Beat 3: Central Roseville, south of the tracks
Cirbyside, theft: Between noon and 1 p.m. August 9, someone went into an unlocked car parked in the 1100 block of Cirby Way and stole an iPad.
Cirbyside, burglary: At about 2:15 a.m. August 13, someone broke a pharmacy drive-though window in the 900 block of Sunrise Avenue. Police don't know yet if anything was taken.
Cresthaven, vehicle theft, suspect seen: At about 8:10 a.m. August 12, in the 200 block of Ardmore Way, an unknown woman hitched up a cargo trailer that didn't belong to her and drove away. She was described as a white female in her late 20s or early 30s, with curly dark blonde or brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing heavy metallic sage green eye shadow, driving a black American-made full size pickup. The stolen cargo trailer contained a motorcycle and quad runners. The trailer, a motorcycle and one of the quads were found abandoned in a residential neighborhood in Citrus Heights. A quad and an Arctic cat side-by-side are still missing.
Folsom Road, vandalism: At about 7:45 a.m. August 9, someone shot a BB at an office window in the 200 block of Harding Boulevard.
Enwood, vandalism: Between 2 p.m. August 8 and 12:30 a.m. August 9, someone broke a window in a house in the 600 block of Atlantic Street.
Police Beat 4 Central Roseville, north of the tracks
Roseville Heights, weapons: At 11:38 p.m. August 12, officers responded to a bar in the 300 block of Lincoln Street, to a report of an intoxicated male acting strangely and making threatening comments. The bar's security personnel escorted him outside without incident. He had a briefcase containing handguns and ammunition. Officers arrested the 24-year-old male from Janesville on suspicion of making criminal threats and carrying concealed weapons.
Vineyard, burglary: Between 5:30 p.m. July 26 and 7 a.m. July 29, someone broke the window of a store in the 1000 block of Enterprise Way and stole the safe and cash.
Police Beat 5 North Central Roseville
Foothills-Junction, theft: Overnight August 2/3, someone rummaged through an unlocked car in the 500 block of Oakborough Drive and took loose change.
Highland Reserve, explosive device, arrests: At 11:46 p.m. August 10, officers responded to a report of someone throwing a homemade explosive device at a house in the 500 block of Cascade Drive. Fortunately no one was hurt and no property was damaged. Two 18-year-old males from Roseville were arrested on suspicion of maliciously using an explosive device, conspiracy, and other related charges.
Highland Reserve, stolen truck recovered: At 8:12 a.m. August 12, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a store in the 900 block of Pleasant Grove Boulevard. The driver had backed the box truck up to the building near the emergency exit and left it running while he went inside. Officers checked the truck and found that it had been reported stolen from Citrus Heights. They contacted the driver, a 27-year-old man from Citrus Heights, and arrested him on suspicion of vehicle theft as well as an outstanding Placer County warrant for resisting arrest.
Industrial East, vehicle burglary: Between 4 and 4:35 p.m. August 9, someone broke the window of an SUV parked in the 7600 block of Galilee Road and took a purse. Within 30 minutes, someone used the victim's debit card at a nearby gas station.
Police Beat 6 West Roseville
Woodcreek, burglary attempt: Between June 30 and July 27, someone tried to pry a back door and windows of a house in the 1700 block of Dashwood Drive. No entry was made and nothing was taken.
Blue Oaks, theft: Between 6 p.m. August 6 and 7 a.m. August 7, someone went into two unlocked SUVs in the 1700 block of Barossa Way, taking a wallet and an iPod. The victim's debit cards were later used by this suspect in a store in West Sacramento: Image 1 and Image 2.

West Park, vehicle burglary: Between 6 p.m. August 8 and 7 a.m. August 9, someone pried the door of a pickup in the 2200 block of Trimstone Way and took tools.
