Local Charity Supports Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Roseville/Sacramento - September is a time to go for the gold and fight back for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Local charity, Keaton Raphael Memorial (KRM) represents gold all year round focusing on building awareness every day. Their mission is to provide educational, emotional, and financial support for children with cancer and their families while building awareness and funds toward a cure. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how you can help this month to continue the fight until the day we can all say, a cure has been found.
Why go gold? Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and in the month of September alone over 14K will be diagnosed with one in five in the U.S. not surviving. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, the Keaton Raphael Memorial and supporters are a vital resource of hope, strength, and healing for those going through a fight that no child nor their family should ever have to endure.
Keaton Raphael Memorial is devoted to building awareness during this month of September and has partnered with local Original Pete's Pizza Pasta Grill & Pete's Restaurant and Brewhouse. The campaign kicked off Friday August 6 at Midtown Sacramento location at 6pm with KRM staff there along with a few childhood cancer families. All 9 locations will be excepting donations for the charity the entire month of September (except Chico)- list of locations on website. All donations go towards KRM and helping local kids and families through their daily struggles so they can focus on their child getting better.
"When a child is diagnosed with cancer it turns the entire family's world upside down. Often times, parents have no idea who to turn to for help with problem solving the overwhelming challenges that childhood cancer families face." Quoting Teresa Hofhenke, Executive Director of KRM, "We are very proud of the positive difference that our hard-working volunteers and generous donors and partners have made over the years in the lives of so many, and our quest is that as an organization, we can one day provide assistance to every child battling this disease, while increasing awareness and funding research toward a cure."
Although childhood cancer numbers have improved over the years it is still affecting far too many. In this moth of September join KRM in pushing forward to continue providing hope and building awareness. Go gold for all the kids out their fighting every day, the more people aware means more people to make a difference.
Join KRM at their inaugural gala taking place September 20th, celebrating 15 years and 1 million dollar milestone donated towards research for a cure. All proceeds from event go back to helping kids with cancer and their families. To inquire about tickets, please contact Dana Pearson at (916) 757-6133 or email@example.com.
