Heartland Poker Televised Tour Hosted at Thunder Valley
LINCOLN - Thunder Valley Casino Resort is proud to serve as the official host of the Heartland Poker Tour running now through Sept. 30. The Heartland Poker Tour Main Event is the first nationally televised poker event at Thunder Valley and the first time the tour has traveled to Northern California.
The series will include the nationally-televised Main Event with three starting flights and a full schedule of cash tournaments and qualifying events. Several professional players will participate in the tournament including Lon McEachern, the World Series of Poker commentator on ESPN.
"Over the years, Thunder Valley has established itself as the region's premier poker destination and we are thrilled to host such a prestigious tournament," said Dawn Clayton, General Manager of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. "We are looking forward to providing poker enthusiasts with a very memorable experience at our AAA Four Diamond accredited resort."
The top nine players in the tournament's Main Event will move to the Final Table to play in front of 16 cameras for a pair of hour-long episodes set to air nationwide. The Final Table of the Heartland Poker Tour will take place on Monday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Thunder Valley's official Poker Room blog at pokerroom.thundervalleyresort.com.
Founded in Minnesota, the Heartland Poker Tour first broke out of the Midwest in 2007 with an event in Las Vegas and has since executed televised tournaments in New York, Arizona, Florida, and the Caribbean. Californians have been successful at Heartland Poker Tour events across the country for years, traveling most often to major tournaments in Las Vegas, Albuquerque, and Black Hawk, Colorado.
