Placer County RCD at Auburn Fall Home Show
AUBURN, Calif. - As part of their ongoing effort to provide conservation education and technical assistance to Placer County's landowners, the Placer County Resource Conservation District (RCD) will be at this weekend's Auburn Fall Home Show at the Gold Country Fairgrounds.
Auburn's Fall TomatoFest is also presented by and coincides with the Home Show. Placer County local farmers will be on hand selling their fall harvest of tomatoes, squash, and pumpkins, and local chefs will be presenting cooking demonstrations. The Show also offers multiple seminars throughout the day on topics such as landscaping, solar energy, food preservation, and more.
The Auburn Fall Home Show is the largest in northern California, and provides numerous products and services to assist homeowners with their remodeling, decorating, and gardening needs. Placer County RCD can help homeowners conserve natural resources and promote plant and habitat diversity as part of their gardening and acreage management.
For example, low-maintenance landscape designs can save water and energy, native grasses can be used to prevent soil erosion and outcompete weeds, and fuels reduction creates defensible space from fire and enhances wildlife habitat.
If you're looking for ways to preserve and improve the natural landscape around your home while supporting agriculture in our community, visit the Placer County RCD booth at the Auburn Fall Home Show this weekend.
The Home Show runs Friday from 11am-6 pm, Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm.
