How To Cope with Holiday Stress
There will be more than 40,000 U.S. deaths from drug overdose this year, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and another 300,000 emergency room visits for drug and alcohol abuse.
The holidays are an especially dangerous time as stress levels run high.
Santa Monica's Andrew Finley, MFT, a licensed marriage & family therapist who specializes in addiction, explores how addictive behavior works in his weekly radio show, "Emotional Sobriety" on City of Angels Recovery Radio (COARR).
Each Saturday night from 5:00 to 6:00 pm PST, Andy talks with leading authors, psychologists, teachers and others who share their insights on the addicted brain and how everyone can lead more emotionally balanced lives. These episodes can help anyone de-stress and gain a healthier perspective of their life, whether their addictions are mild or severe. Andy also answers listener questions via e-mail.
On December 14, Andy's guest will be David Lisonbee, President of Twin Town Treatment Centers in Southern California. TTTC is an innovative treatment center with a unique approach to addiction recovery.
