Man Killed in Roseville Accident on Foothills Boulevard

At 3:17 p.m. today, Roseville Fire and Roseville Police personnel responded to a traffic collision on southbound Foothills Boulevard at Chignahuapan Way.  They found that the driver of a 1995 Chrysler sedan was turning left from Chignahuapan Way onto northbound Foothills, and drove into the path of a 1996 Ford pickup that was being driven southbound on Foothills.  The Ford pickup struck the Chrysler broadside.  After colliding with the Chrysler, the pickup had a secondary collision with a 2014 Kia sedan.

The driver of the Chrysler sedan, a male in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The male driver of the Ford pickup was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with what appeared to be moderate injuries.  The two occupants of the Kia did not report injuries.  There were no signs that alcohol or other drugs played a role in this collision.

Roseville Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision.  The southbound lanes of Foothills Boulevard and one lane of northbound Foothills will remain closed between Main Street/Baseline Road and Vineyard Road for several more hours while investigators examine the scene.
