Rocklin Man Jailed on Burglary Charges
On December 17, 2013 at 9:21 AM, the Rocklin Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a residential burglary in progress on Brittany Court. While the caller was inside the residence, an unfamiliar white male entered the home through the interior garage door. When the subject saw the caller, he ran out the side garage door and jumped the home's backyard fence onto Rocklin Road.
Rocklin Police Officers arrived, searched the area, and located a subject matching the intruder's description. Officers determined that he was responsible for the burglary and he was arrested.
The subject was identified as Steven Michael Unwin, 27 years, of Rocklin.
Steven Unwin was arrested for 459 PC - residential burglary, 466 PC - possession of burglary tools and 11550(a) H&S - under the influence of a controlled substance and booked into the Placer County Jail in Auburn. Unwin's bail is expected to be $50,000.00.
The Rocklin Police Department urges citizens to protect their homes with extra security measures such as deadbolts, audible alarms and security cameras. During the holiday season, thieves may become more active, anticipating homes and vehicles will be loaded with holiday gifts.
