 Crime Highlights

Petty Theft - 6600 block Lonetree Blvd
On 12/23 at about 1402 hours, officers responded to the 6600 block of Lonetree Blvd for a reported petty theft of wood pallets.  There have been numerous reports taken of the same suspect stealing wood pallets from behind businesses off of Lonetree Blvd.  Officers were able to identify and contact the suspect.  The case has been forward to the D.A.'s Office for prosecution.

Vehicle Burglary - 4400 block Rocklin Rd.
Unknown suspect(s) broke out a window to the victim's vehicle and stole Christmas gifts.  The burglary occurred sometime 12/23-12/24 between 2300-0900 hours.

Commercial Burglary - 1200 block Sunset Blvd
Unknown suspects entered by breaking the front window.  The suspects stole prescription medications.  The burglary occurred on 12/25 at about 0543 hours

Residential Burglary - 5100 block Par Place
Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's residence through an unlocked door. The burglary occurred on 12/25 between 1500-1600 hours.

Vehicle Burglary - 1200 block Sunset Blvd
Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's vehicle and stole clothing.  The burglary occurred sometime 12/24-12/25 between 1500-2130 hours.

Vehicle Burglary - 5400 block 2nd St
Unknown suspect(s) removed items from a locked vehicle trunk.  Occurred between 1000 hours on 12-26-13 and 2013 hours on 12-27-13.

Grand Theft From Vehicle - 4100 block Secret Ct
Unknown suspect(s) removed Trolling motor from back of boat parked in the driveway. Occurred between 1630 hours on 12-23-13 and 1230 hours on 12-27-13.

Vehicle Theft  - 1800 block Talon Rd
Two motorcycles were stolen from the victim's driveway overnight.  Occurred between 2230 hours on 12-28-13 and 1200 hours on 12-29-13.

Burglary, Warrant, Resisting Arrest, Drunk In Public
2200 block Sunset Blvd
On 12/26/2013 at about 2256 hours, officers responded to the 2200 block of Sunset Boulevard for a theft that had just occurred.  During a search of the area, officers located the suspect.  When officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he resisted arrest and was taken to the ground.  The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Placer County Jail.  While enroute to the jail the suspect threatened officers and attempted to break out the windows on the patrol car.   Arrested: Oleg Babenko (DOB 12-13-1991) from Roseville

Grand Theft -Commercial - 5900 block Pacific St
Suspect/employee Richard Harrington admitted to processing fraudulent customer returns over a period of six months.  Harrington was booked into Placer County Jail.

Brandish Laser Pointer At A Vehicle - Lonetree Blvd at Blue Oaks Blvd
A juvenile was cited after it was determined the juvenile intentionally aimed a laser device into the rear view mirror of a motorist and caused temporary blindness, occurred on 12-27-13 at 1543 hours.

Burglary (With Intent To Commit Crime) / Disorderly Conduct
6000 block Stanford Ranch Rd
Suspect Tyler Waggoner was placed under arrest after he entered a store and concealed a can of beer upon his person.  He then selected another can of beer and approached the clerk to pay for one can of beer.  The clerk witnessed the concealment of the can of beer and demanded Waggoner pay for both cans.  Waggoner ignored the clerk and left the store.  Waggoner was detained by officers and determined to be drunk in public with no money to pay for anything.  Waggoner was booked into Placer County Jail.

Manufacture Controlled Substance / Furnish Minor With Marijuana / Battery - 5600 block Casa Grande Ave
On 12-30-13 at 2154 hours officers responded to a private residence on a report of subjects packaging narcotics for sale.  Upon arriving on scene, the odor of marijuana was detected and marijuana and paraphernalia were seen in plain sight.  Two juveniles on scene told officers that Suspect Jonathon Barnett provided them with marijuana. Barnett was on probation and a search of the house revealed a "hash lab" hidden under suspect Jonathon Pau's bed.   Questioning of Barnett's girlfriend led to an additional charge of battery - (against a spouse or cohabitant).  Both men were booked into Placer County Jail on felony charges.
