Rocklin Ice Bowl at Johnson Springview Park

The Johnson Springview Park in Rocklin is calling all disc golf enthusiasts to come and play at the Rocklin Ice Bowl on January 4, 2013.

This tournament is actually one of many Ice Bowl disc golf tournaments that are held around the country. Ice Bowl is a collection of disc golf tournaments held in January and February with the main goal of raising money for local charities and to promote the sport of disc golf.

Temperatures in Rocklin are forecasted to be near record highs of 70 degrees.

Funds from the tournaments are donated to a local organization that help feed the hungry, and over the past several years, Ice Bowl tournaments have raised thousands of dollars for charities all over the US. The Rocklin event is being produced by Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin with a fundraising goal of at least $1,500, all of which will be donated to the Placer Food Bank.
