The 5th Annual Red, White & Blue dance recognizing American Armed Forces and Veterans will be held on Friday, March 14 from 7 to 10 PM at the Loomis Veterans Memorial Hall, located at 5925 Horseshoe Bar Rd, in Loomis.

All proceeds will benefit Sierra College "Boots to Books" and Gold County Chaplaincy.

The live country band will be Flat Busted. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple and available online at  or at the door.

Boots to Books is a learning community at Sierra College and is one of California's only programs to help veterans succeed in college.

The Gold County Chaplaincy provides spiritual, emotional and mental support in times of need or crisis to our military, veterans and their families, first responders, businesses, churches and the community.

According to organizer, Sheila Lee, this year's dance will give special tribute to American soldier, Bowe Bergdahl, who has been held captive by the Taliban since 2009. "The annual dance is dedicated to American Armed Forces, Veterans and their families," said Lee. "We will be displaying photos of those who are serving or have served on a Wall of Honor." Contact Lee at 916-660-2059 if you have photos that you'd like to share.

Lee, a member of Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin, says that the club is helping with the event. "Every year, Loomis Soroptimist members support this project that honors those who have courageously served our country," said Lee.
