Mental Wellness Fair in Rocklin March 18th

Rocklin, CA - The Be WELL Mental Wellness Fair will be held in Rocklin at Sierra College on March 18th 2014 from 9:30am to 1:00 pm.

Sierra College will be teaming up with Graffiti Art Therapy QPR- Question, Persuade and Refer for Suicide Prevention

BeWELL mental wellness fair will embrace the SAMHSA Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration eight dimensions of Wellness A holistic guide to whole-person wellness 1) emotional coping 2) Environmental health, Financial wisdom, Intellectual expanding knowledge, Occupational Academic, Physical health, social support systems, Spiritual expanding our sense of purpose in life.


The fair will present onsite student created Graffiti Art exhibit, compelling documentaries and a one hour suicide prevention training program called QPR(Question, Persuade, and Refer). There will be booths with information, therapy and local help resources as well as offering education in Mental Wellness with the goal of building a more effective safety net for all students at Sierra College. The fair aims to inspire and raise awareness of alternative mental health therapies such as relaxation, yoga, recovery,  and stress reduction strategies.

Sierra College will also sponsor a Community Agency Resource Fair with over 20 partners, Suicide Prevention and Intervention trainings facilitated by Gold Country Chaplaincy, and Live performances including a Poetry Slam, We will promote breakout sessions on current mental wellness topics such as; stress management, dating violence prevention, helping friends in crisis, and speakers from numerous Placer County and Sacramento County mental health agencies.
