UC Davis MIND Institute Open House

The UC Davis MIND Institute holds its Community Open House in observance of National Autism Awareness Month tomorrow, Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public and includes fun-filled activities for people of all ages, including a juggler, balloon twisters, bounce houses and ice chest race cars for kids. The first 250 children to arrive at the event receive a prize! Food will be available from on-site food trucks.

Families of children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions can learn more about community resources from more than 50 community-based organizations who will offer education and recreation resources. Attendees can learn how to participate in the MIND Institute's internationally respected research.
The UC Davis MIND Institute in Sacramento, Calif., was founded in 1998 as a unique interdisciplinary research center where families, community leaders, researchers, clinicians and volunteers work together toward a common goal: researching causes, treatments and eventual preventions and cures for neurodevelopmental disorders. The institute has major research efforts in autism, fragile X syndrome, chromosome 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Down syndrome.
