Free Identity Theft Prevention Class in Auburn
The Placer County Sheriff's Office is offering a free identity theft prevention class on Monday, June 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Auburn Justice Center.
The class is open to the public and will be held in the community room at the sheriff's headquarters, 2929 Richardson Drive in Auburn.
Detective Ryan West, who is a financial crimes experts, will lead the seminar. He has taught hundreds of citizens how to protect themselves against identity theft, which is considered the fastest growing crime in America.
This seminar will provide information on reducing your risk of becoming a victim; safeguarding identity; how criminals obtain information; and what steps to take if you become a victim of identity theft.
