WJU Community Wind Ensemble Rehearsals

WJU-Wind-Ensemble.jpg

ROCKLIN, CA. -  William Jessup University Community Wind Ensemble has announced plans for its seventh season at the growing university.  Under the direction of Van B. Crane, the ensemble will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m.  Plans for the upcoming year include concerts on campus as well as performances in churches, schools and community centers all over the local region.

Begun to provide performance opportunities for the instrumental music students at WJU, the ensemble has expanded to include instrumentalists of all ages from throughout the surrounding communities of Colfax, Auburn, Folsom, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, as well as Rocklin, Roseville and Lincoln.

Asked whether the ensemble is looking for new members, Crane indicated that there is always room for qualified musicians.  Although the group has openings for interested musicians in all sections of the ensemble, Crane is especially looking for those who play Percussion (especially mallets), Contra Bass Clarinet and String Bass.

The ensemble is open to adult musicians who have a desire to participate in a community ensemble that will be performing some of the great band music of all time-marches, show tunes, classics, and other traditional music for band.  Qualified high school musicians are also welcome to join with the permission of their Band Directors.

The ensemble rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. on the WJU Campus (333 Sunset Blvd., Rocklin).  Musicians interested in joining the Ensemble or simply desiring more information should contact Mr. Crane at vcrane@jessup.edu or (707) 363-1679.
