Let It Snow: Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Opening

Olympic Valley, Calif.- Following 15 inches of new snowfall, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows will open on Wednesday, Nov. 23, weather and conditions permitting, looking to once again host Tahoe's longest season after 41 feet of cumulative snowfall in the 2015-16 season.

The resort will open the Kangaroo lift at Alpine Meadows on Wednesday and will hold normal hours of operation, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., moving forward. Equipment rentals and ski school will be open with private lessons for intermediate and advanced guests, and both group and private lessons for beginner guests.

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows sponsored athletes will be out on the mountain to celebrate Opening Day. Additional lifts and runs will continue to open at both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows as conditions allow. Food and beverage service will be available at Alpine Meadows Lodge, as well as complimentary cookies and a sparkling cider toast to celebrate Opening Day!

The Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Express shuttle will resume operating daily, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Squaw Valley and running between the two mountains every 20 minutes until 4:00 p.m. The last shuttle departs Squaw Valley at 4:30 p.m. and Alpine Meadows at 4:45 p.m.
