Dive bar chic moves to new site in Sebastopol
Having outgrown its original location on Main Street, The Lucky Star Dive Bar has relocated and is reborn as The Star in Sebastopol, in western Sonoma County.
Its new home is a 1906 building on Sebastopol Avenue that has been a local watering hole for as long as anyone can remember. The Star owners, Haleah Hoshino and Adam Raymundo, extensively remodeled the space, keeping the massive original wooden bar and the upper part of the back bar, and completely rebuilding everything else.
The name has changed slightly, but the "dive bar chic" remains, with an emphasis on really good cocktails in an unpretentious and comfortable setting. The popular karaoke nights on Fridays continue, with live music on Saturdays, including young local bands twice a month.
