Afternoon golfing and evening dinner-auction proceeds benefit local MMCA school  hopeful to raise $10,000 to supplement State funding shortages

Rocklin, CA – Friday April 30, 2010, the Lincoln Hills Golf Club will host Maria Montessori Charter Academy's (MMCA) annual fundraising golf tournament and dinner-auction. The combined event "Swing, Bid & Boogie" as it is called this year, will kick-off with a Noon shotgun scramble followed by a dinner, auction, and dancing at 6:30 p.m. in the Ballroom at Lincoln Hills.

MMCA is a public charter school in Rocklin with a non-profit foundation and PTA that fundraises for various needs of the school. Due to California’s economic crisis, MMCA is actively fundraising to supplement the shortfalls of money for educational materials such as the foreign language program and P.E. equipment. “We also want to fundraise so our classroom sizes can remain at a low 17:1 student-to-teacher ratio,” said Chystee Boothby, MMCA PTA Vice President of Fundraising. “Our fundraising goal for this event is $10,000,” said Boothby.

Golfing packages begin at $100 and consist of individual, twosomes and foursomes as well as sponsorship packages and also include the evening dinner. For non-golfers, the dinner, auction and dancing is $30 or $40 depending on if there is a paid golfer in the party. The entire community is welcome and encouraged to attend.

In addition to golfers and dinner attendees, donated items as well as sponsors for both the golf tournament and auction are desired. To donate items for the auction, contact Chystee Boothby at MMCA at (916) 630-1510 ext. 215 or chrystee@mmcharter.org. To register for the golf tournament or dinner, contact DeDe Cooper at dicooper69@hotmail.com or register online at www.mmcharter.org.
