A commitment to excellence in care and service has earned MBK Senior Living's Casa de Santa Fe a "Dementia Program of Distinction" status from Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA).

AFA’s Excellence in Care program was developed to establish nationwide standards of excellence in care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias.  To receive a status of an “Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Excellence in Care Dementia Program of Distinction,” Casa de Santa Fe’s environment, education, staff-resident interaction and care delivery program were all evaluated by a AFA Excellence in Care specialist.

AFA recognized Casa de Santa Fe as a model of dementia care in their community; noting that Casa de Santa Fe provides a secure environment and is well staffed with professionals skilled in handling the behavior associated with memory impairments.  Evaluators also commented that they found the community’s service delivery to be dedicated to providing optimal care to residents.

“It is an honor to receive this status from the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America,” said Terry Howard, president of MBK Senior Living.  “Our Memory Care program was specifically designed to enhance comfort and care to our residents.  This AFA designation reinforces our commitment to serving residents facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.”
