ROCKLIN, Calif., - The WJU Friends & Neighbors Inspired spring conference on Friday, March 12 features William Jessup University professor of Bible & Theology and History, Dr. Merilyn Copland, who will speak on "Jerusalem: Three Faiths and a City." Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all claim strong historical connections and religious affection for the city of Jerusalem. The lecture will trace the history of one of the most important cities in the world by looking at the ruins and monuments of all three faiths and considers biblical prophecies about its future. Dr. Copland’s expertise includes Old Testament; biblical archaeology, biblical backgrounds; Hebrew language and literature; Greek language and literature; Egyptology; Near Eastern archaeology, classical archaeology; women in the Bible and the Early Church; Islam; Middle Eastern History; Medieval History and the Seven Churches of revelation. Dr. Copland is a captivating speaker with extraordinary knowledge of this subject matter. She has been invited to teach a course in mid May 2010 in Jerusalem at the University of the Holy Land. Conference attendees will also have an opportunity to sign up to travel with Dr. Copland to Jerusalem this summer. Travel dates are June 6-20, 2010.
