ROCKLIN, Calif. – William Jessup University's Youth Ministry department chair will be hosting a workshop entitled, "Understanding your Teenager" on March 13, from 9 a.m. to noon, at First Presbyterian Church in Roseville. The workshop is for parents and grandparents of teens and pre-teens. Attendees will learn what to expect from their children during the teen years and how to parent them with greater confidence, love and understanding. The presentation explores six “principles for effective parenting” and gives parents the road map they need to successfully guide their teens through the rough waters of adolescence. Christy is well known in his field. He is a phenomenal speaker with experience speaking in 48 states, 13 foreign countries and 25 Christian colleges, seminaries and universities. He has also spoken to 34 denominational groups, a quarter million volunteers, plus a million teens and parents. Les has authored more than a dozen books, contributes to many others and regularly offers magazine articles to such popular names as Group magazine, the world’s most-read youth ministry resource. He is a regular speaker at Youth Specialties Conferences around the nation. What others are saying about the seminar: "Solid advice presented in a contemporary fun manner. Every church should bring in Understanding Your Teenager. Your parents will thank you." "We promised our people a great seminar and you delivered! Parents were not only impressed but they got the help they wanted." "The parents from our congregation walked away from the seminar not only with fresh ideas, but also a renewed confidence in being part of their child's teenage years. There was such a sense of excitement among them in realizing that their families could uniquely grow at this time rather than just trying to 'survive' through the teen stages."
