Rocklin, Calif., - William Jessup University’s Community Wind Ensemble encourages musicians to participate in their summer Reading Sessions starting on Tuesday evening, June 15 from 7-9 p.m. on the WJU Campus. There is no cost to participate. The Summer Ensemble is open to musicians who wish to continue playing their instruments through the summer months. The program allows school musicians to continue developing their talents in preparation for their school band programs in the fall. In addition, those interested in joining the Ensemble for the concert season starting in September can give the group a trial run to determine if they want to join the group. Conducted by WJU faculty member Van Crane, each session will involve reading band music of a variety of styles and difficulties, partly for the fun of playing music together and partly with the goal of selecting music for the next season starting in September. The Summer Band will meet every other week during June, July and August at 7 p.m. on the WJU campus. For questions or more information call Van Crane at (916) 253-3718 or email him at vcrane@jessup.edu
